Once upon a time, a girl fell in love with a city., she fell in love with the history of the city and how the scrappy town grew into something elegant and refined . the city seemed like magic, everything that came from there was exciting and cool and mysterious all at the same time. The girl would look for connections to the city in everything that she thought was interesting, and sometimes she would find it and then one day when the girl was all grown up, she got to visit the city all by herself. She walked around in the shadows and the light and smelled the smells and ate the food and saw the sights. Next thing you knew she was bringing her favorite people to visit the city and see the spots where she had walked and see the things that she had seen and they loved it too . Life happened snd that girl who became a woman who became a wife and became a single mom. Once again she visited, this time with a friend and she got to be tour guide and she walked to her favorite spot in the city at Wabash and Wacker and she locked a lock that she had bought at the Walgreens down the street to the bridge and said a prayer over the river and asked the city to send her the man that she was supposed to be with, the one who wouldn’t break her heart. She continued to be a tourist and visit her city as often she could always feeling more at home there than she did anywhere else. Years later, she met a man who was from that city and that’s when her true love story started. Seven years after she met that man, she stood again on the bridge at Wabash and Wacker while he knelt down and asked her to marry him and in that moment, she felt like Chicago Cinderella.
